San Fran Nights 1 and 2
Pre-Opener Dead Man Walking
Set 1: Of The Girl, Go, World Wide Suicide, Save You, Severed Hand, Corduroy, Given To Fly, Unemployable, Sad, Gone, Not For You/(Modern Girl), State Of Love And Trust, Gods' Dice, Present Tense, Comatose, Why Go, Do The Evolution
Encore 1: Even Flow, Parachutes, Footsteps, Once, Alive
Encore 2: Wasted Reprise, Life Wasted, Spin The Black Circle, Bu$hleaguer, Indifference, Rockin' In The Free World, Yellow Ledbetter
Obviously you know all the shows are great. Got to hear my favorite song "Sad" again. Real similiar to night 1 at the Xcel i thought. Although the encores gave us a few classics. Great to hear Footsteps, especially in the order we did with Once and Alive.
Bushleaguer was great, i love the song and the crowd was going wild. Also thought Present Tense was fun to hear. I love the guitar and the end alot. One of my favorite endings to any song. Also nice to hear the whole place sing along with indifference.
Best song of the night was Gone. Saw it on storytellers with a toned down feeling. The chorus was rocking on this night!!
Just screaming out loud.
I was really excited for Life Wasted since night 2 at the X it was my favorite. Not nearly the energy we had in St.Paul. I was a little disapointd with the crowd on this one. I guess we can be proud of ourselves. We also out did them on Alive as well in St.Paul.
*Mosh pit broke out next to us on SOLAT. I was surprised they kept playing. It was about 20-25 rows back or so on the floor. There were no seats on the floor, kind of strange for PJ. Smaller venue, only about 7,000 i would guess. I'm not sure on that though.
The shows were General Admission. Ten Club was allowed in like 15 minutes before everyone else. Doors opened at 6:30, show at 7:30, Pj, like 8:30. Night 1, we got there at about 5:15 or so. We were running a little late, but it worked out fine. We wran in and people were asked to sit on the floor, or you could go find a balcony seat. We chose floor since we did the seats in St.Paul. Like i said, maybe 25th row or somewhere in there for night 1. People were aggresive during the show in moving forward. We ended up a few rows back by the end of the night. Once the mosh broke out next to us, we got seperated a bit. I was standing next to people i didn't know for quite a while, which buzzkilled a bit. Still great though.
Night 2 was better all around. We showed up about 3:00 with our half cokes/captains or Whisky's mixed again. Obviously we did that the 1st night too. We were way closer in line, maybe only 100 people or so in front in the public line. We met some guy from Seattle who drove down. He saw them in 1991 for the first time with Nirvana and shit, so he was pretty cool to talk with. He had beers and Burger king with as well. We then got pushed up and met these other 2 guys, about 35 or so, who had a small cooler and were getting loaded. One was a SF cop. They had some great stories. After we finished off our bottles, we made a break for the liqour store, the dud from Seattle got in on the order as well. My buddys cam back with 40oz for everyone. Besides the actual show, i had the most fun in line laughing and telling jokes with these guys. Just hilarious. Plus being really smashed helped.
Once the doors opened night 2, we got up about 12-15 people back. Just great. Night 2 was aewsome!
Pre-Opener Driftin'
Set 1 Sometimes, Severed Hand, Whipping, Corduroy, World Wide Suicide, Animal, Marker In The Sand, Dissident, Even Flow, Army Reserve, Insignificance, In My Tree, Lukin, Garden, I Got Id, Inside Job, Rearviewmirror
Encore 1 Wasted Reprise, Come Back, Better Man, Life Wasted, American In Me, Alive
Encore 2 Last Kiss, Big Wave, Blood, Leash, Fuckin' Up, Yellow Ledbetter
Great start, i wanted sometimes really bad, so Ed comes out, says like the 1st two lines then goes silent. He screwed up the song and then they just moved on. I was pissed about that, even though it was pretty funny, i thought they'd come back to it later but never did. He later explained how this may be the 1st time he's fucked up the opening song. I am excited to get the bootlegs, because my buddy's and i started some "ole, ole, ole, ole'" chants before the show and during the Encore. Got pretty much the whole crowd going. May have been too early to get on the CD though. We were pretty juiced. We even had a guy behind us say "I have been to the last 5 shows, and you guys mad this one the best by far." Of course we all go crazy for every song. Except Last Kiss (hahahah, it was actually pretty cool, Ed appeared about 10 people over to the right in the crowd. I just felt everyone rush over there. Turned to look and there he was.)
Highlights on night 2 for me were Marker, dissident, Army Reserve, Inside job, in my tree...just the whole show man, Garden, Id,...
Blood was funny to hear since i was singing it the whole day leading up to the show. Once it came on my friends all looked at me and we had a good laugh.
We got busted on the Reprise, we all thought Life Wasted was coming next, i was even happier to hear Come back again. That was a huge highlight at the X i thought, so i wanted to catch it again. Great performance.
in 2 nights they played the entire new album. Great stuff. We met some pretty cool people at the shows. I am pissed my friends get a 3rd show tonight. I guaranteed "Dock of the bay" one time in these SF shows, it was a huge longshot and they haven't played it for quite a while, but hey, we are in the Bay area, break it out.
The guy we stayed with brought his camera and got some real good shots. Quite a few are blurry, but some are just terrific. He was also able to take some good video footage. Some are like 3 minutes, others only 35 seconds or so. They are too big to send, and i have no clue how to get them on here. I have 2 cd's burned and i already put them on my computer. Lebowski, if you want me to mail them to you i can so you can get them up here. Just get me an adress some how.
Later guys,

Awesome stories man! Sounds like you had an amazing time. I wish I could have been there with ya! Hearing the entire new album over the two shows is damn cool. One of the great things about going to PJ shows is getting to meet new friends that love PJ and are so regularily cool. Do you have plans to get to any other shows? I would love to, but I don't think it's gonna happen. I will PM you my mailing address. Send me as much as you can! I will try to get it all up on LastEXIT!

No Plans to see other shows. US tour is pretty much wrapped it looks like. It gets expensive that is for sure. Plus missing work is starting to become an issue. I have a weeklong golf trip to Scotland in Oct, so that will require lots of cash and missing work.
I have your adress, i will get them sent off right away. There is also a picture or 2 of my friends and I, i will let you know which one is me.

My friends were at the show tonight, just heard Release as the opener on the phone. I feel good for them. They have been to about 10 shows and it is their favorite tune and they finally got to hear it. Been 2 days of them begging for it.
My other friend brought his camera and i told him to get "Army reserve" if they play it again in video. We'll see how it goes but should be a great show. I just read immortality was on our setlist night 2 but they didn't play it.
The pre-set song was I am mine.
I'll mail the cd's tomorrow hopefully and then should get the last cd from my friend in a week or so since he has to go back to Phoenix.
ring-----ring - on the phone now listening to Red Mosquito.

I am checking out some of the videos on the site, great stuff, i am watching the Comeback video. I saw your quote in the the thread
"The Last minute of that song in as good as it gets. Chills down my spine every time."
Couldn't be any more exact. I feel the same way. The guitar just gets me. Then Ed and his "ohhhh, ohhh, come back! I need you!"
Just awesome.
I am gonna head to bed here, i am sick of work, but it must be done. If he calls again i will post what is played. I asked for a 'breath" or "Crown of thorns" call, so if they play it i'm sure he will call.
How old are you guys? I am 24 turning 25 in Dec, You guys seem about the same age, no??
